Builder nearing start for Huntersville housing project

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — A long-planned build-to-rent project in Huntersville is set to begin construction in the coming weeks.

Middleburg Communities is planning to start construction on Hamlet Huntersville in September. The project calls for 265 single-family detached cottages and townhome units to be built at a 44-acre site at 12345 Old Statesville Road. The units will include a range of one-, two- and three-bedroom floorplans at an average size of 1,230 square feet. The project will include 187 cottages and 15 townhome buildings.

“We’re excited to bring our Hamlet built-to-rent brand to Charlotte, a market that is attracting new families, corporations and job seekers at a high volume,” Middleburg Communities partner Austin Knapp said.
