MORGANTON, N.C. — The Burke County Sheriff's Office have arrested and charged a man accused of sexually assaulting a minor child.
Officials said deputies initially responded to a home in Burke County regarding allegations of sexual misconduct between a juvenile and an adult.
Deputies said the primary reports indicated 41-year-old Corey Allen Hicks sexually assaulted a minor child.
The Burke County Sheriff's Office investigated the case further, arrested Hicks, and charged him with first degree statutory rape.
Authorities said he received a $100,000 Secured Bond.
Hicks is set to appear in court on Dec. 27.
