CHARLOTTE — A north Charlotte bridge will now be closed longer than expected.
Earlier, officials said the Matheson Avenue Bridge was closed between North Tryon Street and Jordan Place for construction.

Crews are putting in bike lanes and widening sidewalks.
Channel 9 is asking why the closure was extended from Oct. 31 to Dec. 31
Drivers can use 36th Street as an alternate route to get from North Tryon Street to The Plaza.
