CABARRUS COUNTY, N.C. — A massive new aquarium in Cabarrus County just received its first few thousand gallons of water.
The New Sea Life Charlotte-Concord Aquarium at Concord Mills had its groundbreaking in September.
Firefighters started pouring water into the 117,000-gallon, 12-foot deep ocean tank on Friday. Filling all the tanks will require 150,000 gallons.
The aquarium is still on track to open early next year.
