CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Alumni and fans have stepped up in big ways for the West Charlotte Basketball Team this season.
But, few have the means to make as big of an impact as Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper.
He paid for the team's first class trip to the State Championship Game in Raleigh on Saturday, ensuring the team would have buses and hotel rooms.
"He has a lot going on. For him to show support to us, it means a lot," WCHS basketball player Cartier Jernigan said.
Watch the video above as Eyewitness News Anchor Kristin Leigh learns how word of the team's financial need made it to Tepper's phone.
