Charlotte: 16th most populous city in nation

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte is now the 16th most populous city in the nation.

New census numbers released Thursday show the Queen City's population grew to more than 792,000 between 2012 and 2013.

In 2012, Charlotte's population was at 774,000.

The report also shows Huntersville was one of only 14 communities nationwide that grew to more than 50,000 people last year.
