WAXHAW, N.C. — A three-year-old craft brewery in a small Charlotte suburb has landed on a list of the fastest-growing breweries in the United States. The Brewers Association, a national, nonprofit trade association based in Golden, Colorado, puts The Dreamchaser’s Brewery in Waxhaw at No. 4 on its list of 50 small, independent breweries posting a median growth rate of 163%.
“Even as market competition continues to increase, these small and independent breweries and brewpubs demonstrate there are still growth opportunities across a diverse set of regions and business models,” said Bart Watson, chief economist for the Brewers Association.
The aptly named Waxhaw brewery is the realization of a dream by husband-and-wife team Neil and Anita Gimon. The Dreamchaser’s Brewery was the first craft-beer outpost in Union County when it opened in 2016, CBJ reported at the time.
