CHARLOTTE, N.C. — More than 600 Charlotte-area first responders threw on fire gear and climbed 110 flights of stairs in uptown Charlotte in honor of firefighters who died on 9/11 as part of the city’s 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb.
The 110 flights of stairs represent each level of both of the World Trade Centers.
More than 400 first responders died trying to rescue people from the terrorist attacks.
All of the money raised will go toward firefighter charities.
