Charlotte Black Pride hosts Expo Extravaganza in Uptown

CHARLOTTE — Charlotte Black Pride is fully underway in the Queen City, and the festivities continued on Saturday at the Expo Extravaganza.

Forty vendors and businesses set up shop at the Fairfield Inn along South McDowell Street in Uptown.

“While we have our Black community and our LGBTQ community, we love the combination of those two things,” said Miles Perry, the Youth Liaison for Charlotte Black Pride. “Really the uniqueness that brings not just to Charlotte but us as a nation, as a people, and as a tribe.”

Charlotte Black Pride works to celebrate diversity in the Queen City’s LGBTQ community.

Many of the events take place in July, and Charlotte’s Annual Pride Parade will wrap up the summer in August.
