CHARLOTTE — Charlotte Douglas International Airport will get close to $47 million from the Federal Aviation Administration to modernize infrastructure, the federal government announced Thursday.
The airport will use that money to expand the apron. That’s the paved area around the terminal where the planes park.
This is on top of $28 million in federal funding.
The money will help pay for upgrades to the main atrium, Concourse D, and HVAC systems.
