Charlotte offers among the top pay in nation for these two jobs

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — When it comes to pay, Charlotte-area workers employed in two occupations in particular are in luck.

That’s because those two jobs — podiatrists and actuaries — in Charlotte earn among the most in the U.S. for their respective professions, according to new data from U.S. News & World Report. U.S. News compiled the five best-paying metros by annual average salary for all jobs profiled on its website.

Podiatrists in Charlotte earned an annual average salary of $222,760 in 2019. That’s about $80,000 more than the average U.S. pay of $142,680 for that type of doctor.

As for local actuaries, they were paid an average annual salary of $150,630 in 2019. That’s nearly $30,000 more than the $120,970 average U.S. pay for that profession.
