CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Robert Bolton started giving away trees from his Christmas tree lot three years ago but this year, he decided to step it up a notch.
He partnered with Little Jack's Tree of Hope and this year they donated more than 60 trees from the lot on Beatties Ford Road to families and nursing homes across five counties, including Mecklenburg and Iredell.
Bolton's lot has been up and running for more than 20 years. He said he enjoys helping families by allowing them pick up a live tree, tree stand and lights.
