Man arrested in connection with murder in Chester County, deputies say

CHESTER COUNTY, S.C. — A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in Chester County, according to deputies.

On Tuesday night, around 9 p.m., the Chester County Sheriff’s Office responded to Stepping Stone Drive off Armory Road after receiving reports about a shooting.

At the scene, deputies found a person suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to the hospital, where they later died.

The sheriff’s office says the suspect, later identified as 20-year-old Reco White Jr., left the scene before deputies arrived.

On Thursday, deputies announced that White had been taken into custody. He has been charged with murder, attempted murder, and possession of a firearm during a violent crime.

Other charges may be pending, according to the Chester County Sheriff’s Office.

White is being held at the Chester County Detention Center.
