CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, S.C. — Chesterfield County officials said they have found the body of a man who drowned in Lake Robinson.
Authorities said the man was with another person on a boat on the lake Sunday evening, near McBee.
Officials with the Department of Natural Resources told Channel 9 that the other person had fallen out of the boat and that the victim jumped in to save him.
The man who fell in was able to get out of the water on his own but the man who jumped in to help drowned, according to authorities.
No names have been released.
Breaking: Chesterfield County sheriff's deputies are looking for a person who apparently fell from a boat on Lake Robinson outside McBee. DNR officers are on the scene now. No word yet on if the person was fishing, boating or had anyone with him at the time.
