CHARLOTTE — The city of Charlotte says it will release the names of people who apply to be mayor through the public records request process.
Initially, a spokesperson told Channel 9 that they would not release the names at all.
City officials will not proactively release applicants’ names without the Charlotte City Council’s approval.
Update- Just heard from the city of Charlotte. They will release the names of mayoral applicants through the public records request process. But the city will not proactively release the names of applicants without the blessing of Charlotte City Council.
