CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Mecklenburg County commissioners are honoring the late Harry Jones.
County leaders voted unanimously Tuesday to rename the Renaissance Golf Course in honor of the former county manager.
Family members said Jones loved golfing and this is a fitting dedication.
“He loved the course and always enjoyed playing there,” a family member said. “We can see him looking down with a big ole grim on his face.”
Jones died in February after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
