CHARLOTTE — A portion of a busy road in north Charlotte was closed for hours early Wednesday while police investigated an apparent shooting scene.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police blocked off the outbound lanes of Old Statesville Road between Gibbon Road and Apache Avenue, calling it a crime scene.
Channel 9 watched as investigators walked along the roadway, collecting shell casings and other evidence.
Before officers were sent to Old Statesville Road, two men who had been shot showed up at Atrium Health University City Hospital around 2:40 a.m. One of those victims had serious injuries, according to authorities.
CMPD said the crime scene could be related to the shootings but could not share more details.
