CMPD: Man killed after falling from cell tower

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police detectives were conducting a death investigation just south of uptown Wednesday morning.

Officers responded to a construction site in the 200 block of South Kings Drive around 7:30 a.m. where a man's body was found.

Investigators told Channel 9 that a construction crew working at the site found the body.

Officers said the site is an apartment building under construction.

Police told Channel 9 that no foul play is suspected and that it appears the man fell off of a cell phone tower above the site, severing both legs.
