Police identify man found shot to death in northwest Charlotte home

CHARLOTTE — Police have identified a man who was found shot to death inside a northwest Charlotte home Monday night.

Officers said a woman called 911 around 9:30 p.m. saying she found her boyfriend, 40-year-old Anthony Leakes inside a home on Elliott Drive off Sunset Road with gunshot wounds.

When first responders got there, they pronounced Leakes dead at the scene.

The deadly shooting is Charlotte’s 107th homicide of 2019.

No arrests have been made.
