2 charged in deadly northwest Charlotte shooting, CMPD says

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said a man has died after a double shooting early Saturday morning in northwest Charlotte.

Two suspects have been arrested and charged with murder in connection with the crime.

The shooting happened around 12:30 a.m. at the intersection of North Crigler Street and Rozzelles Ferry Road.

Police said two people were taken to a nearby hospital, including 25-year-old Demarcus Mack, who had life-threatening injures. The second victim has non-life-threatening injuries, officials said.

Officers confirmed Mack died at the hospital Sunday due to his injuries.

CMPD charged Antonio Tawan Rollins, 27, and Requan McCray, 25, each, with murder, two counts of attempted murder, two counts of discharging weapon into a moving vehicle, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill to inflict serious injury, assault with a deadly weapon and possession of firearm by convicted felon.

This is an ongoing homicide investigation.
