CHARLOTTE, N.C. — On Wednesday, the community can expect to find out whether Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's latest crime-fighting efforts are paying off.
Chief Rodney Monroe plans to release crime statistics for 2012.
He will also recognize the freedom division, which recorded the largest drop in crime of all 13 divisions.
The freedom division covers the southwest section of Mecklenburg County.
