CHARLOTTE — Officials at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools are trying to shift the atmosphere at a school where students have engaged in bad behavior, such as ransacking classrooms and attacking a teacher.
“As we’ve seen in Charlotte over the last few years, discipline is declining and improving, safety is improving, so things are getting better,” said Melissa Balknight, the deputy superintendent at CMS.
