Concord kennel Camp Bow Bow could face fines

CONCORD, N.C. — A Concord kennel almost shut down because the owners were operating without a license.

The State Department of Agriculture sent Camp Bow Wow a cease-and-desist letter. If the owners did not file the proper paperwork, they would've had to shut down.

State officials said the kennel has been operating without a license since June 30. Officials said they renewed their license Friday.

Officials said when an inspector showed up last Monday, the staff made the person wait in the lobby while they removed dogs from the common area.

The letter said despite attempts of the staff, the inspector found the ratio of dogs to supervisors was too high in all three common areas. The kennel could face fines if that is not fixed.

Camp Bow Wow's corporate director also told Channel 9 that it has a renewed business license.

Channel 9 has asked the business for a copy of the license.
