Deputies went to Saltville, Virginia, to pick up Bryan Hoover and Brandy Miller after a grand jury indicted them in the shooting deaths of 38-year-old Chad Kennedy and 57-year-old Mark Furey.

Authorities said both men were shot and killed in February at a home near Stoney Point.

The sheriff believes Hoover is the man who shot and killed the men inside the home, although Hoover repeatedly denied involvement to Channel 9's Dave Faherty.

Hoover has been charged with two counts of murder and Miller is charged with accessory after the fact.

Investigators didn’t find any sign of a break-in when the murders happened.

Neighbors said Hoover and Kennedy were friends and had grown up together.

“They all played ball together in school, and everything, growing up,” neighbor Adrian Campbell said. “They were friends all through high school -- elementary school.”

Investigators said after the murders, the couple went to Saltville.

“I don’t believe he (did) it,” neighbor Gordy Campbell said. “I’ve known him for a while and it just don’t seem like something he would do.”

Adam Morgan, 20, was also charged with two counts of murder in connection with the case.

According to court documents, investigators are looking into whether a webcam found inside the home captured the killings. Kennedy had the webcam on his computer to use as surveillance inside his home.

The camera was on and recording, but it's not known if it captured the killing.

“Just about everybody we arrest says they didn’t do it, but we feel comfortable about the case,” Sheriff Chris Bowman said.

The search warrant also said there was a secret passage by the fireplace and a hidden compartment in the bed. Deputies believe narcotics may have played a part in what happened there.

It's unclear if the weapon used in the killings has been recovered.
