MOUNT HOLLY, N.C. — A developer has purchased land just across the Catawba River in Gaston County with plans for a waterfront project.

Earlier this month, Penler acquired an approximately 31.5-acre site in Mount Holly for $6.3 million, county real estate records show. The Atlanta-based developer has plans to add a 314-unit apartment complex at the site.
