CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A driver is in the hospital after crashing into a light pole and a tree overnight.
Crews had to pull the driver from a pickup truck on Johnston Road near Providence Road West about 2 a.m.
Police believe the driver was speeding and drinking.
The road was shut down for a couple of hours while crews investigated and cleared the scene.
