CATAWBA, N.C. — On Wednesday morning, you may hear a loud, steady noise going off all across the area.
Duke Energy is testing its sirens for three minutes starting 10 minutes before noon.
Homes within 10 miles of the Catawba Nuclear Station in York or the McGuire Plant in Huntersville may hear the loud sound. Duke is also testing hydro sirens at Bridgewater, Rhodiss and Mountain Island Lake stations.
