Charlotte-Mecklenburg police told Channel 9 that club security members from World Nightclub at the AvidXchange Music Factory got into a fight with the entourage of Atlanta-based rapper "Trouble" over an open container of alcohol.

During the fight, a club security officer was shot, authorities said.

Police arrested a man they said shot the employee. Three others have also been arrested.

Police said after the shooting, which happened just before 2 a.m., additional fights broke out in the parking lot as officers stopped several people from driving away.

The scene was so chaotic that dozens of officers were called to calm things down.

Channel 9 spoke with a young man who works at another business in the Music Factory who described the scene.

"I think that was pretty much like a tussle. It was a tussle and then shots fired. Even after that it kept fighting," Blessing Nwosu said.

Channel 9 crews could see several people in handcuffs.

Police said they have been going over surveillance video from inside the club.

Channel 9's Mark Becker spoke with eight police officers who said the club employee was shot in the back, but managed to walk to an ambulance.

The club employee was taken to the hospital and is expected to be OK.

The following day, Alcohol Law Enforcement officers charged the club owner, Susan Schall, with failing to superintend.

Police are asking anyone with information about a suspect or the incident is asked to call 911 or CrimeStoppers at (704) 334-1600.
