Fire crews tackle 3-alarm fire at south Charlotte home

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte fire crews battled a large house fire Saturday morning in south Charlotte.
 
Multiple crews rushed to the home on Bromley Road at about 4 a.m. and found the house fully engulfed in flames.

Officials said the fire started in the attic of the home near Queens Road.
 
It took 50 firefighters 48 minutes to gain control of the fire, which caused $200,000 in damages.
 
Channel 9's photographer said about eight people were in the home at the time of the fire, but everyone escaped.
 
Officials said an electrical issue caused the fire.
