KINGS MOUNTAIN, N.C. — Monique and Dave Sullivan are taking their love of wine to the next level with a 70-acre winery in Kings Mountain.

Veronét Vineyards & Winery is targeting a mid-September opening, pending its ABC permits. It's located at 1549 Ike Brooks Drive in Kings Mountain

The 6,300-square-foot winery boasts a wrap-around patio to enjoy the views of nearby Crowders Mountain. There's a 9,000-square-foot outdoor pad for food trucks and events, and a separate production facility with room to grow.

It's been two-plus years since the couple embarked on the journey to make Veronét a reality.

"You have to be a little bit crazy and have to really, really love wine," says Monique Sullivan.

The venture blends her love of wines with her husband's fascination of the beverage from his professional experience in chemical engineering.

"Wine is an art and science," she says.
