STANLY COUNTY, N.C. — About 100 community members and first responders remembered a Stanly County paramedic and volunteer firefighter who died last week.
Lt. William Oxendine was driving to work Tuesday when he crashed on Highway 52 in Norwood.
On Thursday, there was a procession to honor Oxendine.
Chopper 9 flew overhead as first responders brought his body from Charlotte to a funeral home in Albemarle.
