For the first time in 20 years, Statesville elects new mayor

STATESVILLE, N.C. — For the first time in 20 years, Statesville will have a new mayor.

Doug Hendrix beat out four other candidates for the position, according to the Statesville Record and Landmark.

He’s the former chairman of the downtown Stateville development corporation.

Former Mayor Costi Kutteh did not seek election.
