CHARLOTTE — A former youth coach in Caldwell County will spend 10 years in federal prison for receiving child sexual abuse material.
On Thursday, the U.S. attorney for the Western District of North Carolina announced that Nathaniel Byrd, 38, was sentenced to a decade in prison and 30 years of supervised release.
Court documents say Byrd admitted to downloading the material after his phone was seized during a search of his home in Hudson.
He pleaded guilty last December.
