Fort Bragg to require identification for all visitors after shooting

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Following the shooting deaths of five service members in Tennessee last week, U.S. Northern Command has conducted a review of U.S. military’s stateside Force Protection posture and Fort Bragg has made some modifications to the way it secures the post.

Visitors 18 and older to the installation will be required to show valid proof of identification before gaining access to Fort Bragg.

"This is a prudent step to reinforce existing security measures that we have in place to safeguard our service members and their families and our civilian workforce," said Benjamin Abel, Fort Bragg spokesman.
