Charlotte student found in Boston river remembered Sunday

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — He was remembered as "remarkable," "talented" and "sweet."

Friends and family celebrated the life of 23-year-old Jonathan Dailey on Sunday.

The Charlotte man’s body was found about a month ago in a Boston river.

"When Jonathan went missing I thought for sure he just went out on an adventure,” said brother Kevin Dailey.

Kevin Dailey said that's because his younger brother was known for going off on his own and leaving his phone off for days.

The Boston Architectural College student was last seen in his apartment on Oct. 2.  About a week later a search team found his body in the Charles River tied to a cinder block.

Kevin Dailey and dozens of other friends and family members celebrated Jonathan Dailey's life at Morningstar Ministries in Fort Mill.

Kevin Dailey told about a looming regret he has about something he didn't tell his younger brother before he died.

"I would have told Jonathan that he was going to be an uncle.  I really wish I could have told him that," said Kevin Dailey.

"He just seemed to be the best son anyone could have,” said Pastor Rick Joyner.

Joyner said many people had goosebumps today as parts of Jonathan Dailey's journal entries were shown at the service.

"It was like he knew,” Joyner said. “He foresaw his own end in a sense. His hope in the lord, his love for God, his desire to one day know the lord better, of course he does now."

The facts and circumstances surrounding his death are still under investigation.
