Funding found to help add more stops to light rail, CATS officials say

MECKLENBURG COUNTY, N.C. — Plans to bring the light rail further east in Mecklenburg County are moving forward.

Lats year transportation leaders slashed the plan for the Silver Line, reducing its original route from Belmont to Matthews to the airport to Bojangles Coliseum instead.

Now CATS says it has found the funding to help add more stops.

Officials are hosting a community meeting on Thursday to share more details.
