GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — Gaston County Communications said it has been experiencing technical issues with 911 calls.
It said that calls have been failing to reach the communications center. The issue was found after a software upgrade to the Next-Generation 911 platform required by the state.
Officials said approximately 2% of 500 daily calls have failed to reach the communications center.
It is working to resolve the issue, and if someone is attempting to call 911 and getting no response, they are advised to hang up and call again.
People can still reach Communications for Non-Emergency calls at 704-866-3300 as this line has not been impacted.
