Gaston County weighs incentives for $28.5M project eyeing Apple Creek Corporate Center

GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — Apple Creek Corporate Center in Gaston County has landed a number of manufacturing projects in recent years. It appears the park is in contention for another.

At its meeting Thursday night, the Gaston County Board of Commissioners is scheduled to hold a public hearing and consider incentives for Project Hemmingway, according to the agenda. Documents state the project calls for a total investment of $28.5 million to design and build an approximately 100,000-square-foot facility at Apple Creek. The project calls for the creation of 60 jobs at an average annual wage of $53,000.

Project Hemmingway would locate at Lot 4 at Apple Creek, a parcel that documents show is just over 9 acres.
