Gastonia to auction off old vehicles, equipment

GASTONIA, N.C. — (AP) If you've been looking for a pickup truck, or maybe a Bush Hog, the city of Gastonia may have what you want.

The Gaston Gazette reports the city has no further need for the wide variety of vehicles and equipment that have their share of wear and tear and plans to sell them. The surplus stock includes a mixture of 78 vehicles and pieces of equipment. Most of the property is still in use and will be taken out of service by the city in the coming weeks and months.

Among the offerings are 24 Ford Crown Victorias and 13 Ford F-Series trucks. There's also tractors, mowers and construction equipment.

Purchasing and warehouse manager John Wall says a list should be posted in the next few weeks on www.GovDeals.com.
