Georgia officer fired for running suspect over with car

A Georgia police officer was fired after video shows him hitting a suspect with his patrol car.

Body camera video shows Timmy Patmon running from police Friday in Clarke County.

One officer was chasing Patmon on foot, while Officer Taylor Saulters jumps into the pursuit with his car.

The video shows Saulters jump the curb, swing back onto the road and strike Patmon.

Patmon was wanted on outstanding felony warrants.

Saulters was on administrative leave before the police chief fired him Friday.

The video shows Saulters swerving toward the suspect and hitting him.

A police department spokesperson said they don't believe it was intentional but rather negligent.
