German company building plant in Huntersville

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — (AP) A German company is building a plant in Huntersville that will employ about 60 people over the next five years.

Burkert Fluid Control Systems is moving its operations from southwest Charlotte to the new location.,

The company makes valves, sensors and other products that measure and regulate the flow of liquids or gases.

Huntersville Mayor Jill Swain says the move will help diversify the town's economic base.

The company operates in 36 countries and has more than 2,500 employees.
