CHARLOTTE — A Charlotte man is being held on a $100,000 secured bond after police say he got into a shootout at about 10 p.m. Thursday outside the 7-Eleven on North Tryon Street in University City.
Crime scene tape was stretched across the parking lot of a 7‑Eleven and the Walmart Neighborhood Market.
Security video shows Genesis Petty and another man shooting at each other outside the convenience store, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said.
CMPD arrested Genesis Petty after they say he and another man got into a shootout last night outside the University City 7-Eleven on the 11500 block of North Tryon Street.

Police interviewed Petty, and he admitted to firing six shots at the other man.
The victim was found in the nearby Walmart with gunshot wounds to his thigh.
MEDIC took him to the hospital with serious injuries.
Bullets also struck the gas station and two gas pumps.
