CHARLOTTE — An altercation Friday night led to a deadly stabbing in east Charlotte, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said.

The homicide happened at about 9 p.m. along Cheval Place near the intersection of North Sharon Amity and Central Avenue.
Officials said Kwame Anwar Pugh , 25, was killed during a gathering in a home.
The suspect, 41-year-old Michael Bruce Oliver, was arrested Saturday and is facing charges. Police said the suspect and victim knew each other.
No further information has been released, and the investigation is ongoing.
