CHARLOTTE — A group of mothers came together on Saturday to celebrate one another.
The second annual “Salute to Single Moms” was held at the Movement Family Wellness Center in west Charlotte.
The event was a tribute to mothers who are raising kids and working on their own. There was music, food, and awards for the mothers in effort to make sure they felt appreciated.
The founder and owner of Hope to Heal, Akya Canada, wanted to make sure each mother felt loved while at the event.
“I wanted to bring that to light to love on these women,” Canada said. “Let them know they are loved, they are needed, and they deserve every ounce of it.”
Donations and ticket sales helped pay for gift cards, trophies, and gift baskets that were given away at the event.
