CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. — In Catawba County, inmates and shelter dogs are helping each other get a second chance.
It’s through a program called A New Leash on Life.
According to the Hickory Daily Record, the inmates are saving dogs from the euthanasia list and training them.
Organizers said the program gives the dogs a second chance at finding a home and teaches the inmates valuable life skills after prison.
