CHARLOTTE, N.C. — An investor group is buying most of the Ballantyne Corporate Park from the family that started it 20 years ago.
Northwood Investors bought more than 4 million square feet of office space Bissell owned and 600 hotel rooms.
Economic expert John Connaughton told Channel 9 this could lead to more development.
“It will probably free up the Bissel group to do some more green-field stuff. It’s tougher for people to do new startups, if you will, in terms of commercial development,” Connaughton said.
A branch of Northwood owns other Charlotte Properties, like nearby Blakeney Shopping Center and The Vue apartments in uptown.
