Kilah's Law could get support from federal lawmakers

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A North Carolina law could soon get support from federal lawmakers.

Rep. Robert Pittenger took Kilah's Law to the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives.

The state law, named after Kilah Davenport, enforces harsher penalties for child abusers.

Pittenger hopes Congress will tweak current federal child abuse laws.
