Lab results reveal what was inside edibles found in customer’s to-go orders at local Red Robin

CHARLOTTE — Channel 9 now knows what was in the edibles that were provided with some Red Robin takeout orders in north Charlotte in June.

We took one of the edibles to Avazyme in Durham. This is a lab that specializes in agriculture and food testing.

The results show the edibles contained 10 milligrams of Delta 9 THC.

The lab president said that’s enough to make someone feel high, but the bar would have different effects on people.

“It depends on the age, the size of the individual, you know, whether it’s a child or juvenile, who are usually much lower in body weight and much more susceptible to certain types of toxins and versus a 200 pound adult. That may not experience the same effect,” said Volker Bornemann with Avazyme.

The lab president thinks there’s enough Delta 9 in the bar that it would potentially kill a small dog that ate it.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said no one is facing charges for the incident.

Red Robin fired the employee that was putting the edibles in to-go bags.
