LAKE LURE, N.C. — Residents and businesses at Lake Lure are celebrating a Helene recovery milestone with a soft opening Monday.
The public will have limited access while officials keep checking on the lake and wrap up work.
Under this first phase, the entire lake will be a no-wake zone.
Helene devastated the town and left more than 1 million cubic yards of debris in the lake.
