Lancaster man accused of selling large amounts of LSD from home

LANCASTER COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities in the Carolinas seized thousands of doses of LSD, a large amount of cash, other drugs and weapons, which resulted in the arrest of four people including a Lancaster man.

Local and federal authorities wrapped up a drug investigation Friday, which led to the arrest of Christopher Dustin Owens, 23, of 1346 Kings Circle, Lancaster, the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office said.

Owens is accused of selling LSD from the home.

He was arrested in a parking lot on Sugar Creek Road in Charlotte after allegedly selling 1,000 hits of LSD to an undercover source.

Owens was taken into custody and remains in jail on several charges.

Authorities then executed a search warrant at Owens’ home Friday and said they seized 1,257 hits of suspected LSD, 169 suspected Ecstasy pills, 35 grams of suspected marijuana, magic mushrooms, drug paraphernalia, an AK-47 rifle and $1,387 in cash.

Search warrants were also served at two homes in Forsyth County, which led to the seizure of almost 4,000 hits of suspected LSD, suspected marijuana, an AK-47 rifle and over $11,000 in cash. Three additional men in North Carolina were charged with trafficking LSD.

There are other warrants out for Owens, charging him with trafficking more than 1,000 doses of LSD, trafficking more than 100 doses of ecstasy, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.

“I am a little surprised at the presence of such a large quantity of LSD in our county,” Sheriff Barry Faile said. “We appreciate the information shared with us by the Mocksville Police Department, the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Department and the Department of Homeland Security. This joint operation led to the arrest of four people on very serious drug charges and the seizure of several thousand doses of LSD, a large amount of cash and two firearms.”
